The Beginner class will teach you basic ground strokes including forehand and backhand, the serve, the return of serve, the drop shot, the volley, and the dink. We will also show you where to stand and where to move, how to keep score, some of the rules and give you a general idea of how to play the game. The final 20 minutes will be spent simulating a game so you know what to expect when you go out for open play.
The Beginner + class is for those who have played before and can hit some of the shots mentioned above. We will work on improving these strokes with advanced drills and also practice improving your serve, dink, return of serve, volley, drop shot, and overhead smash. We will also work on positioning and where to move during the game. We will then play a few games to learn the tactics and strategies necessary to become better players and enjoy the game more.
The Intermediate Class is for drilling various shots: serve, return of service, the dink, drop shot, drive and lob as well as working on doubles strategies. Intermediate players can generally hit forehand drives, serves, and returns with medium pace, as well as hit dinks, but lack consistency and control. These players typically understand the basic strategy and rules of pickleball.
